and why do you spam this thread?
I created a new thread for comparisons and share photos taken with GCam.
This thread is for support on the GCam and the new one for sharing purpose.
The thread: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/share-your-gcam-pictures.1061971/
For me, on the 7 Pro using Arnova, tried both 1.6 and 2.0 config, highest option I have for the rear camera is (4:3) 12mp and (16:9) 8.3mp. Front is (4:3) 4.1mp and (16:9) 2.1mp.
Am I missing a setting somewhere to get the rear camera to 16.3mp (as noted in the instructions to change it to after applying the config file) or even higher?
This is on a fresh install (first time installing the port).
The message about the 16 MP resolution is my mistake. I copied it from the OP6 post and forget to remove it for the OP7.
The the limitations of the resolution on the front and rear is OnePlus' fault. The GCam only gets the pixel-binned pictures. And there is the resolution of only one quarter.
Maybe there is fix coming soon, but not for now.
Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.
One last question, what's the difference between the 1.6 and 2.0 config? Would you recommend one over the other?
Can anyone help me to provide a link of stable gcam app link for OP 7.
wow that pixel team do not look like manly men at all in fact they seem a little more feminis then my sister
Did you read the thread?
I made a video to compare the Gcam with the original camera. You can check it out.
Does any know of any configs for GCam on the 7 Pro that can note in the details if the photo was taken with the GCam app? It would be nice to be able to compare OnePlus camera photos vs. GCam photos.
There is an unofficial way to detect the use of the GCam.
On my OP6 the GCam saves the pictures with a resolution of 16.3 MP and the OOS camera saves the pictures at 15.9 MP. Google Photos shows the pixel count in the info.
The device name is also not exactly the same as at the OOS camera. GCam adds P3XL or N6P to the model in the EXIF data.
Oh cool! Have you been able to verify that happens 100% of the time? I feel like some of my photos that I am pretty sure I took with GCam aren't labeled as such.
The resolution identification is 100% safe on my OnePlus 6. I don't have a OnePlus 7 Pro so I can't verify it on this device.
The EXIF model suffix depends on the mode and setting of the GCam. You can choose the Google model in GCam settings and this is added there.
Test your main camera modes in GCam like portrait, normal photo or night sight. Test it also on the front and back camera.
It may be different on another GCam port version. So think about it on an update of the GCam.
