[Submitted] Google Pay Not Working After Update to 9.0.2 T-Mobile


Does Google Pay work for you on T-Mobile 6T with 9.0.2

    Try to use Google Pay to pay for something (Payment methods were already added and working before update).
    Note: This problem is on T-Mobile build 181228

    Also. my device is not "Play Protect Certified"...

    Check your Play Protect certification status
    1. Open the Google Play Store app Google Play.
    2. Tap Menu Menu and then Settings
    3. Under "Play Protect certification," you'll see if your device is Play Protect certified.

    I don't see "Play Protect certification" under Google Play > ("hamburger" menu) > Settings.

    The last item in the settings is "Play Protect certification".
    Just to make sure that we are on the same page, the setting menu has 3 secions "General", "User controls", and "About". This option is in the "About" section.

    Not on my TMo 6T.
    I've got: Open source licenses, and Play Store version under the About section. No Play Protect certification item.

    My 6T is updated, and my Store version is 12.9.12-all [0] [PR] 224566662 and reports as up to date.

    Interesting. I have the same Store version. Maybe you are certified! Do you have troubles with Google Pay?

    Don't use it. Normally it sits disabled on my devices, but I just enabled it to see if it exposed the notice you all are seeing. Didn't change anything.

    This seems really half-baked. I too had an update at a very inconvenient time. Now, no more Google Pay, and not certified for Play Protect. What is going on here?!

    same issue on my end, when trying to set up Google pay for in store payment. from reading articles online, seems it's tied to the 6T not being play store certified. although I didn't check before, the 6T had to have been certified before because I've been able to use Google pay in stores previously.
    I've tried the steps from the following Google support article, but no luck: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7512202?hl=en

    hope the next update will resolve the issue.

    T-mobile asked my to wipe the cache partition and it didn't work. Then they asked me to do a Master reset and I refused.
    They said since you still have manufacture warranty you can do an exchange! I said the problem is with the update! All op6t phones will have the same problem because you can't cancel an update, or delay it, it is installed automatically and resets your phone on its own!
    Fix the update, she siad she is gonna pass this message along, but I doubt it.
    They pushed a random update, broke people's phone, asked them to do a hard reset and lose your everything, and at the end of the day the solution is to wait for ever until they come up with another half baked update.
    Very upsetting.

    Unlock/Global version is already in 9.0.11 with December Security Update BUT the T-Mobile version still stuck in November Security update with problems with VOLTE calling, blurry camera, battery life is short, In-Display Fingerprint is slow, Google Pay is NOT working, half of the new/enhanced features & services with the Unlock version is missing, and MANY MORE!!!

    F@#$ Pete Lau & Carl Pei for NOT doing anything about all those problems...

    STOP selling OnePlus 6T in T-Mobile!

    same here for me, they are willing to do a warranty exchange, waive the fee and reimburse me for my tsp and dbrand skin lol

    Ok this fixed it for me.

    Press down on Play Store icon for 2 seconds. Then click app info. Click storage, then clear storage. Should be fixed.

    Lastly sir1jaguar seriously drop the phone from T-MOBILE for a bug. No phone is perfect and mistakes happen. T-MOBILE getting the One is best thing. Go to Samsung and enjoy 6 month old updates and a laggy bloated GUI. I am happy here with OnePlus and thier solid phones.
