Google Photos: New video editor for all; Pixel-features for Google One members

I subscribe to Google One. The pricing is very competitive compared to other software providers. Plus, I can share my subscription with the rest of my family. The likes of Dropbox and Box don't get anywhere near the prices and feature set Google offer.

Not that I am aware of. From what I wrote, Google Photos will continue to be the same application, but with new features - some of which, exclusive to Google One subscribers.

The OnePlus Gallery is a different application all together.

Unless Google will force manufacturers to use its own gallery app as they ve done with telephone app? Of course with the argument of "security reasons etc.." What if they ll start charging users for the use of android itself???? AOSP is open source, but all that Google framework is not, so they might charge for the usage of :Maps, photos, gdrive, contacts and and and...

    My good man,

this is not the best thread to report your problem. Please submit a bug using the Feedback Section [Submit Bug]. It truly is the best option to let the developers know.

Thank you and have a great week.

I think it's just, google way of promoting their subscription base, paid online storage. That way, more users would consider switching with added features from free to paid storage. Smart move by Google.

One feature here, one feature there. ;)

I think this will be the trajectory while the company continues to make it more and more enticing for the general user. And perhaps in a year or two, we'll start to see the prices of the subscription plans to climb too.

You got it right, my friend. It s about a kind of addiction. At first it s all free, to catch the users, then, after some time, a big user base is there, full of people who love the convenient, easy going free services. And when this user base is big enough, they start to change services and to charge for them. Most users are mousetrapped now, because they never had to handle the services by themselves before, Don t know about alternatives. (Maybe Google has bought alternative service companies to clean the market???). OK, a small number of skilled users will check out, but the big mass will stay and pay. And here we are now.
