Google Services Broken since Android Pie Update

  1. ECKoBASE Froyo Jul 16, 2019

    ECKoBASE, Jul 16, 2019 :
Since I updated my OP5 to Pie back in January, Google Apps don't work as well as they did on Oreo.

Android Auto: Notifications for SMS & Other Messaging Apps don't appear on the AA Dashboard. Constant crashes when running Maps within the AA App.

Google Assistant: Can no longer hold down the home button to fire up GA, also Voice recognition doesn't work anymore.

I don't wanna have to factory reset my phone. is there a fix I can apply or a guide on how to get this working in Pie?

uninstall update for Google app and clear data and cache reboot device and update the app again an see if that works. do the same for Google play services.

No such problems here sounds like you need to back up everything important, format system and have a fresh start

That's what I would do.. it's an hour or so work but worth it every few months more so if you install and uninstall alot of apps, android can be very untidy

yeah, just sucks coz I haven't formatted since purchase. was happy with Oxygen OS Updates maybe Pie is just a huge jump that Upgrades from Oreo wasn't smooth.

I think of it like Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

Waste of time, you need to get rid of the orphaned files and crap which only format system will do...
