Google TV remote app keeps closing Jan 19, 2022

    C40 build. When trying to connect to my Sony Android TV the Google TV app simply closes for the most part.

    I've had it connect a handful of time but overall it's not useable.

    Anyone else having the issue?

    Yup does the same thing afterwards...
    It also does this with my Google TV stick.

    Had same issue. Clearing Data of Google TV app solved the issue.

    Did not try to clear the storage on the Android TV... Are you suggesting a factory reset? That's gonna be wayyyy too much work to get the remote to work.

    I think the app does have a problem with A12 or the OOS12. It does crash often.
    One alternative I found is to operate the Remote from the Google Home App, it's listed inside Device's control. I find that working without crashes somehow. You can give it a try till this gets resolved.

    Tried that too with similar results. It actually just closes the remote and returns to the main Google Home screen.
    I also updated to c44. Issue remains.

    Seems to happen less when Bluetooth is turned off if this makes a difference.
