Adrenno 330, stock steps of 200/330/389/462/578 MHz. Default frequency is 330MHz.

578MHz is the max frequency that Qualcomm specifies in their spec sheet for the GPU. That's how fast the GPU will be running when you're playing performance intensive games like NFS, Modern Combat or Real Racing 3. The GPU will dynamically change frequency to ensure the battery life is as good as possible. (Just like the CPU)

In my case 330MHz is how fast it runs when I was rendering 2D graphics (the act of me using the phone, and running an android app). That "idle" frequency is up to the kernel to decide. It should NOT be higher than 330MHz, as that is what OPO have programmed in themselves, and is expected to last more than 2 years. It could be set to 200MHz, but maybe OPO found that too slow in testing.

What you're trying to say, is with the AK kernel, you'd effectively be making the GPU always run at 578MHz. No, no, no. That's similar to running an engine at max RPM 24/7. It will eventually wear out the GPU. Now as for overclocking the GPU to higher than 578MHz, no one has managed to do that yet, and I would NOT suggest that, seeing as max temperatures already reach up to 80 degrees Celcius.

I.e. you open a 3D game, GPU goes to 578MHz as long as you are using that app. You lock the phone (with the app running), GPU goes to 200MHz, still running the game, but at much lower clock speeds to prevent overheating. You unlock the phone, GPU goes back to 578MHz. You close the game, GPU goes back to 330MHz. You lock the phone, GPU will go to 0MHz after a while (turning off), as it enters deep sleep, as the phone doesn't have to display anything.
