Unfortunately due to the intermittent nature of this problem it's almost impossible to post screenshots so I'll just have to describe it as best I can

Currently I'm running 38r with franco.kernel r24 and recently I've noticed that every now and then a portion of the screen about 1/3 down will flicker when I touch the screen, showing whatever is "beneath it". For example on the home screen the app icons will have lines through them where I can just see my wallpaper instead of the background, or if I'm typing a caption on snapchat one row of the keyboard will disappear revealing the portion of the picture underneath.

It's not a phone breaking bug, but is rather annoying as I have no idea what the cause is, it simply started happening last night. So far rebooting seems to help it disappear for a short while, but then it returns.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Have this same issue. Just started this afternoon. It's a straight line across the screen normally appearing when I swipe down menu or on lock screen. Just rebooted and seems to have gone away. But guessing will come back. Annoying.

I also got this after the last update. A reboot removed it temporary. I got it twice while using the camera.
I also now have experienced a full freeze. (Unrelated to the flickering i believe). So I think the update is less stable than the previous version. I hope we get new update again quickly.

I too have experienced a full freeze, as well as a random reboot. It seems less stable but my battery life is killing it so I'll stick with it for now. I agree that hopefully they'll release another update soon but I doubt it

I've noticed the same on 38R on mine. A thin flickering line sometimes on lock screen or swipe down menu. Pictures attached (the lines show a small portion of the launcher).

If you're running a custom kernel, the issue is because both the ROM and kernel need to be updated to the latest CM commits. To temporarily solve the issue, you can turn off HW overlays in the developer menu.

I had the lines on stock 38r and had to check disable HW overlays on each reboot to get rid of them. On advice from XDA I have tried Franco kernal r25 and so far ok, seems less laggy too! Apparently CM are working on a fix.

I'm actually getting fairly frequent complete lock ups :( happens probably once a day and occurs completely randomly, requiring me to reboot

I've got this as well. It's not a hardware issue then?

It seems to only happen on overlays and onversion 38r. Seems like a software problem in my opinion.

Just disable Hw overlays in developer options for now until an update to the kernel comes.

I've got this issue as well. I hope they roll out a fix, so that the error doesn't happen again. Running stock ROM, not even rooted.
