I did some tests a couple of days ago with my old Samsung Galaxy S10+ in a really dark room, with no windows and no external sources of lighting, so it was complete darkness and this is how it looked:

On camera the results look a little bit exaggerated and it depends of the angle you take the picture, but I see no issue at all.

Also I took a picture of the same image for both devices, and the colors and shadows look good in both devices:

I cant see any issue with your screen except the horizontal line across the front camera.

I don’t want to get too excited, but it looks like after the latest update a lot of screens look closer to like they should

The horizontal line is just how the header works for Chrome; it seems it has some kind of texture for the header. I also tried with images and videos of solid colors, and no horizontal line there.

Well, when I did the tests last week, I was still in 10.5.4, so there wasn't much of an improvement for me and so far it has remained moreless the same.

Like I had said, there are still plenty of devices with problems. Hopefully it’ll all work out in the end

I wish that was the case, I have black crush on videos with Vibrant Color effect turned off. I did my RMA last night, I have 2 perfectly good one plus phones the 7 pro and the 6T sitting in front of me with zero issues. I dont need an expensive not ready for market phone.

The one to blame for the Black Crush is the CC option, not the Vibrant Color option.

For me, enabling the DC option on Labs is like cancer and just ruin the image. I was going to RAM because the screen was looking crappy, but I managed to play with some settings and in the end I got a nice calibration and performance with the screen.

I leave an example between having the DC option off and on:

    Judge by yourself.

    Hello, can you please :
    - explain what is "CC option" ? (you mean activate the DC Dimming ?)
    - share which video and timing is that so we can compare with you please ?

    Thank you

Yes, I meant the DC Dimming option, which is by far the worst setting I have found in this phone.

Is anyone with a manufacture date after the 25th April having issues?

Seen a few reports that newer devices are better.

That would be great! I noticed there seems to be no stock available in many countries, so wondering if they've pulled it to fix the issues

Probably all the devices have the problem, after 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 phones with issues looks better and phones without issues look worse. They are trying to calibrate all devices at the same time, so they are now calibrated at the same point (thats why ppl with issues now dont see any problem and ppl without issues see problems) in the next OTA they will get a good calibration (I hope so). In my personal case, before 5.5 dc on brought me a fix, because i had tons of green tint with dc off after 5.5 and 5.6 i appreciate just a bit of green tint in the middle of the screen (i had it in the right side) and dc was a real **** so i think it will be solved in the next OTA, if they dont fix it, we just can get a replacement

It doesn't matter if it was manufacture in March or April. Oneplus would have bought most of the screens, rams etc in bulk in advance. Then they will assemble and date the phone but the parts inside might have bought earlier than the manufacturing date.

If you want to be safe, then its better to wait 2-3 months because by that time Oneplus might have used up old parts and use new parts

    I hope this makes sense
