I think its a Software bug not a Hardware bug. Does OnePlus offer the option to return it when I get the new one? Huawei had this service with the mate 20 pro

I'm currently in the process of returning this phone. The quality of the screen is really severely lacking. A shame, I very much enjoy the software experience, but with these colour shifts (green) and 'black crush' issues, I cannot enjoy this phone the way I want to.

I really hoped these issues would end with the 7T, but it seems they've worsened on the 8 Pro :(
My sympathies to everyone facing this issue; this is not premium quality, and I really REALLY hope Oneplus does not reply with the same statement as with the 7T screen issue that it just comes with the OLED-technology and that it does not degrade the functionality of the phone.

They are a company now that produces flagships, with flagship prices. They are proud that displaymate rated the screens as one of the best, but with these underlying issues at the base, what does it even mean? Oneplus, please take this matter seriously and don't stonewall people like with the 7T.

At what brightness level does the black crush disappears?

Around 15%-25% I would guess. With DC Dimming everything is okay. It's very frustrating now because I don't know is it a hardware or a software problem. The support told me they will forward my photos to the department and they will write me an email...
I hope it's a software but and it will get fixed soon. The galaxy S20 ultra has the same problem

Please try to reproduce the black crush with viewing a Netflix serie: Star Trek Discovery SE1:E1 32:20

Doesn't matter what the brightness is, if the black crush is present, you will notice it at low or high brightness (see my start post for an example versus a screen with no black crush).

Does this only happens when you turn on the dark mode?
