Anyone can tell me how I can completely switch off the status bar icons? I saw someone posting how to do it, but can't find it?

All are switch off in the menu of the phone, but some are still popping up

This is the biggest issue with this screen. Tinting is normal for AMOLED to a certain level, but this is simply horrible. All the color changes you see there while increasing brightness are really happening, and equally visible to the naked eye.

At the moment i can't make a video, but on my S10 i see the same color shifts. I didn't notice these "faults" of AMOLEDs until i start focusing on it. Now i can't unsee it, thanks guys :(:D

After chatting an hour with the customer service they said they'll finally replace the display itself due the image burn-in in the status bar.

Second time my phone goes back

Seriously now,who the hell will keep their phones at 25% brightness, nobody ,at a higher brightness you can't even see these issues.

The problem show up in normal light too. You can see the black crush with daily use and also green tint on videos and on whites. It's like a green haze in normal conditions.

I find it simply impossible to believe that One Plus has not made any real public statement about these issues and what the resolution will be. Smart phone display manufacturing is almost an exact science at this point. Releasing uncalibrated, poorly calibrated displays with burn in, is simply in 2020 an intentional decision. Screen calibration and testing equipment has been around for years for LCD and OLED panels.

So is One Plus going to replace every single phone that they have sold? Or are they instead just going to continue to sell known defective displays to te world. A class action lawsuit will be the likely result if they don't fix this.

    for EVERYONE.

I keep my phone at below 25% most of the time. Maybe it's just me.

the thing is .. in a dark room at 20% you should be seeing below 14.

and that is the crushing. you can't. the display can't show the shades at low brightness. so you have black crush.

which ofc is also a problem for OLEDs in general.

Why would they make a statement? As a business theyd be silly to do this, it only highlights the problem and would make people who don't othwiser see it send the phone back. They'd be much better as a business to say nothing and people will still buy the phone. Us people that already bought it and see it will of course be stuck.

I've returned my oneplus 8 pro... Terrible display. Uniformity and green tint... After update more red tint. Fixed by software update huh? Nooo they try to hide issue with software update. Cant believe oneplus havent made a statement about this to their customers / community. My manufacturing date was 05/16/2020

Hi everybody. I read all about your experiences with one plus 8 pro and, obviously, i'm sad for who had problems. Pay a lot of money for a defective device it's distant to be a happy moment. Anyway, i registered on op forum and write this to report a big discount for op8 pro on store like bangood. This, probably, it's not a good signal because the problems are unsolved BUT op need to clear his warehouse. In this moment i could purchase it for 675€ (128gb version). Obviuosly, i'm carefull to do this, i don't know how bg manage the returns and if anyway paypal can save my a$$ and my money in case of defective device. I have not experience with bangood's return so i will continue to wait. Honestly i'm looking for Xiaomi MI 10 too but, you know, it's not the same thing (no ip68, no 120 hz, no video-out ecc).
    Bye

from my tests, the black crush is there in videos with low quality, compressed and so on... I played the same video on OP8 Pro, Note 9, Zuk Z2 Pro and even on Led monitor and laptop, and the black crush is there all across the devices.... Icons and black bar retention I never seen it under normal use of the phone...

Yeah I also saw black crushed in lower quality videos, like some streams on youtube where not everyone is using high quality cameras, but on higher quality videos things were fine, and I'm starting to think this issues was always there but never payed attention or carred to much, but now with this display obsession people have ,it made me paranoid,so it sucks.
