    Exactly. I regret choosing 8T over S20+.

This could very well be hardware. But I'm thinking there's a small chance this could be related to software.. so I'm just hoping they can fix this with updates? Hopefully..

I've been a fan of OnePlus since the One - had this thing imported when it came out.

But now seeing how they're cutting corners on some mid premium devices it's really a shame and it's making me consider whether I should ever get or recommend a OnePlus now.

I wonder how they get A rating for their displays.

I haven't had a chance to compare it like this to another phone, but it's super obvious that there are no blacks when viewing HDR. I highly suggest that you send these pictures in the feeback section so they know and have a reference as well.

I mailed them, tweeted them and did everything I can possibly do .

Do you know the response I got?

Hi Dhananjay, we are happy to help you.

We would like to inform you that this issue is not related to hardware.

OnePlus devices comes with an industry-leading higher refresh rate AMOLED screen.

Under specific circumstances of extreme low light, a slight display discoloration may occur due to the properties of the AMOLED display. This is not a quality issue and will not affect daily usage or the durability of the screen.

OnePlus will continue to look into cutting-edge display technologies and strive to deliver the best user experience possible.

I used Redmi K20 pro and LG G8X prior to using 8T and they both seem to be producing blacks perfectly.

Yeah I was using the Vivo v15 pro. It has an amoled screen too. But blacks are as dark as the night.

It's a beautiful device man but they just messed the component that we primarily interact with, and to see their responses is just a shame.

I guess they gave us a hint of the quality when they decided not to have any return policy. Even they know they can't trust their devices.

Well I guess I'm never buying a OnePlus again..

That problem is actually present in all amoled panels. I am also using the Redmi k20 pro, this issue is also present in it

    Hi,

I was just curious. Can you verify this by sending a picture of your device in the dark? You can open a browser or gmail compose email to check the tint issue. My father purchased a OnePlus 8t and I'm not sure if the thing I see is a tint, or maybe it's a psychological thing lol 😂. Thanks in advance..

It's better to check your device in service center because only service center can see your screen physically .
They can provide you better solution.
