    I have the same problem. With one of the newer updates the OTG is disabled by default. I cant connect a mouse or keyboard without enabling it first.
    Any Ideas how to get around this?

    Thank you all for this thread. You ve transit all what i was going to do and you ve answer all my question.

    Today, it seems there is no solution due to the disable OTG. Unless se find a way to enable it without touching the screen. Voice comands?? Some hardware hack??

    How I solved it :

    Find the key combination to take a screenshot on your mobile
    Connect the mobile to a computer, and find the directory were screenshots are stored (mine were in Pictures/Screenshots/ )
    Enable the USB Debugging option by taking screenshot each time you do something on the phone

    Either your screen is just black with working touchpad and you have to guess the right position of each menu/box
    or without touchpad you connect a keyboard to the mobile and go back and forth

    Hope this helps =)

    I was able to activate USB-Debugging after adapting this procedure to Android 9 / Oxygen 9.0.8. I was able to do the modifications because I own a Oneplus 5 and a Oneplus 6T.
    For Android 9 / Oxygen 9.0.8 this worked for me :
    • Windows + n
    • 12 x Tab -> Enter
    • 13 x arrow down (System) -> Enter
    • 10 x arrow down (Developer options) -> Enter
    • 16 x arrow down (USB debugging) -> Enter
    Thank you dom94023, your approach helped me greatly tonight !

    A year late, hope I get a reply.
    So I just broke my 3T screen and came across this thread. First of all thank you Dom for putting the info out here. However, the OTG storage is turned off by default. If it's disabled then it renders this entire thread useless. Am I wrong or does it still work despite being disabled?

    Hi, same issue here but on a OP6 android 10, otg is enabled since it vibrates to some random keyboard inputs but following the android 8 instructions wont enable USB debugging. Does anyone have a link to a similar thread for OP6. or the time to help me out by getting the key combinations?

    This is great guide. But you have improvise to make it work in 2020. this methods needs some modification if you are trying in 2020, because the layout of the settings changed when we updated to Android 9 or higher.

    I have OnePlus 3T , my screen broke and i was able to recover all my data with some difficulty. below are some key changes.

    To reach the build number, you need press down arrow twice and right arrow once. The placement of build number depends on your "build number" Android 9 or 10. so you need to select that accordingly.

    How I was able to make it work:
    I borrowed my sisters phone which is working fine. I did a mock run on her phone to see exactly how many times exactly you need press down arrow / right arrow and then I followed the same on my device.

    Just do mockup on a device which is working fine (borrow from friend or collegue) and then follow the same steps on your device.

    also to enable OTG, if your screen is completely blank, you can enable from developer settings.

    let me know if anyone needs help.

    Could anyone possibly do an Android 11 version of the steps? Hate all my friends are iPhone fanboys.
