You should add "Expanded Desktop Mode" to your list.

I would of thought for those whom have The yellow band, the best thing would be to stop hiding it with the software buttons and return it to a 5.5 inch visible desktop.

Will have to try DPI setting. So far I only use cap/buttons and changed SwiftKey size to the smallest and it's more than enough (for now).

I haven't really used that option before. Can you enlighten me? What does it do?

Your notification bar goes away and comes back in sight when you swipe down from the top. It's just hidden.

Cool :). Just tried it out, but honestly don't really like it. I will add it to the list however.

Went to second file manager: No dice. Went to a third files manager (Root Manager): And it worked! Rebooted, but then my OPO burst into flames. Just kidding. It worked great. Thanks for the help.

Personally, at 61 I have no desire to tax my aging eyes by cramming more stuff onto the screen and shrinking the text down. For some of us, the main advantage of a large screen and high DPI is being able to see everything a bit bigger without it looking granular.

I greatly appreciate your suggestions, but number 7, enabling the Expanded Desktop, keeps me from using Double-Tap to Sleep. :(

Well it took me all morning (its on works time so I got paid for it!) but finally managed to get:
    ADB drivers installed.
    Unlocked:
    Restored.
    Rooted.
    Backed up.
Finally after about a million reboots (well some) I managed to change the DPI :)

Got to say that looks good makes the mahoooosive screen so much more useful.
Happy days. Kinda hoping I can do the same thing on Oxygen whenever that rocks up.

+10 android hero points in the meantime :)

Maybe this would be of a help for all of you:

Go to Terminal > type "su" > type "wm density 420" (or any value you want)

I asked this in another similarly related thread. However, I did not get any responses. I was wondering if this thread could assist me:

Does anyone know why 410 is the magic sweet spot for DPI?

Also, how much of a downgrade happens when watching movies if you change the DPI, from 480 to 410?

Lastly, there are unsubstantiated claims that lower DPI causes greater battery life? How significant is this claim? Is there a large sample size that can confirm this?

    Any help is appreciated!

Did dpi changing have another issue? Like can't update or Install some applications?
I have done all suggestions except the spirit changing thing :)
    Waiting some answer....
