You can make your One whatever you want it to be. I do believe that changing the value to 200 will make it difficult pressing some buttons on your screen. But you won't find out unless you try. Give it a shot and let us now :)

There is no sweet spot, it's user dependent. Everybody can have another sweet spot. Try it out.

No downgrade. Movies stay equal resolution, regardless of value you set.

It's not the dpi you're changing, it's a value. Your dpi is fixed to what the screen can handle at most (hardware). Lowering dpi value has, in my opinion, no impact on battery life. It stays the same.

No, not at all. All works like a charm. You can download and install all apps like you would with standard dpi value.

Change the spirit :), see what it has in store for you :D

Try on Tues or do what I did check Craigslist. I got one for $280. I've seen them for as low as $240.

    Here's what I discovered:

    1. Font: Minimal Teal is ok. But I prefer Obsidian (available free on Google Playstore)

    2. Font size: Depending on your age I prefer to keep the size to 100%.

    3. Swiftkey: I like the colour of holo theme because I can see clearly the colour change of the shift key when I want to capitalise my text. Also I added Accented Characters & a Number row on my keyboard.

    4. DPI: I dare not tinker around with that. Sorry.

    5. Grid size: 4 x 5 is just fine for me as 7 x 6 is way too small for a guy's finger & makes the desktop appear too crowded

    6. I too recommend the use of the capacitive buttons as the onscreen navigation buttons can be cumbersome to use as they will disappear after a few seconds when you enable "expanded desktop" & will only reappear once you slide them up.

    7. Enabling Expanded desktop: Besides what I have pointed out above, as you already knew, enabling expanded desktop will also deactivate double tapping of the status bar to bring the phone to sleep function. However there's another option available. Under buttons enable the Quick
Launch Shortcuts (only when onscreen nav is enabled). Slide your finger up from the bottom of the screen & 3 slots will appear where you can specify which function shortcuts you want to launch. You can place the sleep button here. I would also recommend to place the "screenshot" shortcut here too. These shortcuts will appear by sliding your finger from the bottom of the screen. Then touch any shortcut button that you desire.

    Forgive me for any shortcomings.

Thanks for your feedback! Definitely might be useful for some users who prefer slightly different settings.

As for the Grid size - once you change DPI, changing grid size to 7x6 (or even 8x6, what I currently have running), is no problem at all :)
