[GUIDE] My battery settings for OnePlus 2

    aneesimran , Oct 4, 2015 :
We all know Snapdragon 810 is s***, heats up quicker and worst thing is it's not battery effiecent, it kills the battery on my phone (see other SD810 phones and they also have mediocre battery life) as where as Sd808 on the other hand is slightly better and I'm not sure if it's because of the powerful adreno chip or 4 big cores.

So I have been getting annoyed with battery so I have finally improved battery significantly and so far haven't noticed any difference in performance.

    So here's what I done:
    1. Flashed ak/ boeffla kernel
    2. Downloaded kernel auditor from play store
    3. Used kernel auditor to disable 2 big cores
    4. And downclocked the GPU to 500mhz from 600mhz

Suprisingly, the phone is much cooler, and there hasn't been a hit in performance such as Web browsing and opening apps, scrolling etc.

    P. S. I don't do heavy graphical gaming so this settings are probably good for me and a lot of others.

Hope you have found this useful. Thanks

Edit: prior to this I was getting 3 hour SOT as where as now I am achieving around 5 hours.

Benchmark wise I'm getting 56000 on antutu which is around 5000 points lower but still higher then all the SD808 competitors such as Moto X style and G4

Why would you buy a high-end device with a sd 810 and disable 2 of its cores?

If you are not using HD games then your battery life would be normal

Firstly I didn't notice any performance difference, but still it's better then Sd808 as it's got faster and newer gen RAM and still a better GPU

What the whole use of buying the phone if you are switching off 2 of its cores? Such a shame :p

Is there any tutorial to flash custom kernel with twrp? Is it like flash custom ROM?

What I was planning is once ak kernel gets overclock feature I can overclock to the default frequency of 2.0ghz and still keep dual core and undervolt, hopefully that should keep battery good and gain in performance

I was under the impression we couldn't underclock the GPU yet? That's really what's going to save you battery, disabling cores will be pretty minimal.

Did the underclocking affect anything else, videos stuttering or something similar?

Absolutely nothing so far, performance and smoothness has been exactly the same, that's what really surprised me

You might be right because everytime I go on kernel auditor it keeps resetting my gpu clock freq to normal
