I did make a backup so I can restore stock and then do the OTA update. I am wondering though, can't we just unroot using the su app, update and then root again?

Apart from that, I am reading there are many problems with these updates, especially with the SD cards. So, I was thinking to pass for now and update once this is solved. Any ideas?

Well i am not sure if unroot via supersu would restore the system partition to get the OTA work.
Restore via twrp and flash the OTA. You can also skip the OTA right now and wait for the next one.

    Hi there,
    want to root my oneplusx.
While I was surfing and googling I read something about "broken update" after rooting.
    Can anybody confirm this?

Humm, this is a little unsettling...I don't have my OPX yet, it's on it's way (maybe a few days), but I'm thinking of letting a week go by before rooting. Do you think we'll have an official TWRP by then?

Guys I really need help... Im trying to unlock the fastboot but my OPX disappears after i launch it in the adb.
I can reboot it into fastboot, but when in fastboot my computer cannot find the device? I've installed the drivers as it said, the OEM is unlocked and the USB debugging is on.... WTF is going on? asda.JPG

Try to change the usb port and cable. If drivers are there , it should detect in ADB and storage too.
Go to Device Manager from My computer properties and look for the unknown device.

Getting a root access would not make any difference to stock rom, all you have is root access to install and use root apps. So nothing spectacular is going to happen on root.
BTW what glitches are you facing, may be i can suggest something.

As mentioned earlier, OTA fails after root access due to changes to system partition, you have to unroot and first to do the OTA, or just flash full rom as and when available.

No i have to tried these.

No news as of now as to when the official version for TWRP would come out, so just have to wait it out.

TWRP is device specific so wait for the official version.

Install the drivers, you device is not recognized in fastboot as i see no device key, follow the instructions carefully.

@Funk Wizard Thanks for your reply. I'll wait for the official version as you suggested. In the meantime what's all the fuzz with TWRP? I mean ok it's easy to use and quite stable but it's not like the only recovery out there. I used to use CWM a while back (more than 3 years ago) and it was quite smooth too. Why do all the people here stick to TWRP?
