Correct. You can 'private message' (PM) someone and they will PM you back in the forums and they will never require your email and you will never require theirs.

You do not need to start any threads to receive an invite. In fact, never start a thread the ask for an invite as it will be deleted.

Instead, go to a thread where someone is giving away an invite and follow their instructions to get it (unless they instruct you to give them your email or money).
