I actually enjoyed using Cyanogen. I used it for one of my tablets a few years ago. It was a little unsettling at first that it was bland. It felt empty and somewhat uninteresting.
This was an issue only because you want new things to have some level of flash or pizazz. Fortunately I'm not one who is so easily turned off by the lack of this, I merely enjoy it more.
Once you get past the lack of "style" you find it's exceptionally quick and functional. Most of what I needed was present. If I had one issues with Cyanogen, it's simply that it needs to have a UI artist give it a little makeover. Nothing drastic. Something simple and elegant. Hell, I'd love some crazy themes or an LCARS styling (just for some geeky fun) but something basic. From what I've seen they look to have attempted this so...
When can we get our hands on the phone? -Adam

I use Cyanogenmod for my 2 year Huawei Sonic for about half a year and I'm very satisfied with it. I can change whatever I want, from theme, sound, CPU frequency, to behaviour.... in a word: amazing !

Almost all the devices I have had, had Cyanogenmod in anytime, except my actual LG Optimus L3 II. But that´s because LG doesn´want to unlock our bootloader, so, there´s no CWM for the LG LxII series.

Not vanilla but I used a custom rom based on Cyanogenmod with a custom launcher.

I use it on my Samsung Galaxy Y, I love the customization, but my phone is too old to be fast and overclocking doesn't work on my ARMv6(?) Processor :(

I flashed CM7 in my LG Optimus 2x, stock rom sucks. I haven't use that phone now, and the latest rom I flashed for it is a PA custom rom

CM was my first encounter with a custom ROM back in the days of android 2.1...;). I used it on HTC Buzz(Wildfire) after a long awaited s-off and rooting procedure. CM rom was THE choice in those days. After that, and a couple of other terminals, currently on my device( Note 1) I'm using of course CM 11 in form of a nightly build (still a very good choice).

Well frankly, phones since ICS doesn't really much modifications or customisation for general use
