Looks like something is wrong with the power source...
Try some other power socket or other places...

I tried at 2/3 different power outlets in different rooms
sometimes the level of heat and ghost touches varies but still present
i also tried multi touch tester apps and they also show ghost touches

getting this issue after I guess 9.0.5 update

also no issue when the phone is used after removing the charger

See if you can slow charge using a battery instead of the wall. 100% times I had problems with ghost touch was caused by poor charging.

    Are you using oneplus accessories?
    Do you have AOD enabled?

There's multiple reasons why your device could be potentially overheating.

Same as for negative feedback off your digitizer (touch sensor under the glass).

If you could provide more info for the 1st 2 questions & what kind of apps you have installed.
Personally alot of overheating comes from apps having background run times that aren't necessary like a malicious app.
As for ghosting accessories not made by OnePlus can have those effects (screen protector/ case)

Remove the screen protector and orser the Oneplus one if you still think you need it.
OnePlus did make the statement about using approved screen protectors. It was on the plastic placed on the screen when you took it out of the box.
As for movies being downloaded i would check your source files & see if additional files were zipped with it.

using the charger and cable that came in the box
    using only apps like snapchat,insta,whatsapp.
never had any issue with these apps on other oneplus phones

temperatures can reach about 42C while charging without even using the phone.
I just picked the phone while charging, it felt really warm so downloaded this app to check

thank you so much for your quick support
I got the 9.0.7 yesterday and charged the phone for the first time after the update.
Ghost touches didnt happen just for this instance but heating was present.
Also the charger seems to be getting quite warm

Heating can be caused by multiple things...
Luckily oneplus fast charging don't overheat the phone... But app running in background, Bluetooth scanning, data, GPS, poor reception...
All these can lead to the device getting hot...

Fast chargers usually have to change the voltage and current ratings so some step up/down is being performed...
And that can lead to the charger getting all heated up... It's normal...
Even the dash charge is build in inside the charger and not the phone... Just to keep the phone cool... And that also adds up some heat in the charger...
