I was randomly testing the HDR in auto mode in the car just now.

this image pretty sure with HDR

    this image without.

I feel that HDR should be better.. but it wasn't.

    anyone has similar experience?

Yep. The camera still isn't amazing on the OP6. I have a Pixel 2 XL, Huawei P20 Pro, and a OP6. The only thing the OnePlus beats them on is overall snappiness and speed. The other two win in everything else, hands down.

But for a $529 phone, the camera is decent.

    Where is the correct thread?

Hmm.. I think the +6 camera is very good compared to my +2. But the I really dont get the HDR mode. highlights get more blown out. Its like HDR mode just makes everything brighter..

    the HDR is absolutely horrible
I think you are not supposed to use HDR in poor light.

Ahh... well I thought my ramblings is more specific to +6's HDR mode, not photography per se. Will dive there :D

I was under the impression that HDR is increasing / bridging the dynamic ranges between the darkest and the brightest part of the image. and your right, it looks horrible.

Actually most phones are limited in low light in terms of what they can do by hdr.
Oneplus 6 auto mode is best for low light (unless you have a tripod)
