Headphone jack is loose

Whenever I plug in my headphones in the jack, it comes out with the slightest pull. I don't even hear the earlier snap fit it used to have. What can be the issue?

Dust or pocket fluff might prevent you to get the jack into the snapped position.

Did you use the headphones somewhere else? a slightly smaller hole can damage the plug so you can't use it again normally, tried that on a airplane once.

Theres tiny metal pins inside the port to secure the jack that are more then likely wearing out due to constant headphone use.

If this is the case, get it fixed or somehow secure the cord to the phone when you use headphones.

I had the same problem, it's just some dust and stuck pocket lint stuck in the earphone jack that is pushing the earphones out.

Take a safety pin and carefully try to pull out the lint, altho minute..but your earphones will work like a charm post that !

    Hope this helps :)

You do realize this is a bit old and you are talking to air, right? If you are going to dig up old threads, at less quote someone in the thread to talk to.

This worked for me too. Used a paper clip to pick it out. Just keep digging and digging and you'll be amazed how much dust and lint comes out. My headphone plug was being pushed out and now it firmly fits into place. Phone is 2.5 years old and works great.

I feel like an idiot, it's so obvious. I was about to order a new jack, and take my phone apart, then I came across this thread. Got a pin, and cleared out the dirt, and the Jack is absolutely fine now, thanks for the help guys.
