I think the sensors are the same + depth sensor, so it should be the same +1 🙄 but I'm not angry, I'm happy with the picture quality of my OP8. I just find it weird.

IMHO, OnePlus should hire Marc Levoy instead of paying Robert Downey Jr.
I've heard there are some new filters by Hannes Baker in the camera app? :D

I seriously feel that 5mp back camera should have been a macro camera instead of depth. This making 2 camera just a gimmick. No use of that 5mp depth camera and that 2mp macro camera will be also turn out to be waste because of OnePlus's crap image processing. 5mp macro could have turned the table

Bluffs so much about new line up, adds 2 useless cameras just to cramp up the number of sensors on a phone.

I've heard some evil voices say that's because it's a rebranded Oppo/Realme...

I have the #7Pro. #Nord seems to have more in the camera department and for a lower price, I am interested now. I wouldn't mind an extra phone that's not $1K but performs like one. And Oxygen OS is pretty good. Now I can use 1 phone for the drone and the other for media on ground. I just need a drone now. Lol. How about a #1+ #Drone ?

Same here....but note that OP8 has a better ultrawide camera. Happy with my OP8 so far. Would have been pissed if they had given telephoto in Nord but thankfully thats not the case.

after using samsung galaxy s8+ for 3 years, I switched to oneplus 8. the only reason I switched to oneplus 8 was that it was the only 5g phone in my budget. but I regret on giving up the samsung, camera of oneplus 8 stands no where compared to camera of samsung galaxy S8+!!! may be I am wrong but when we do the screen casting on 4k tv, I think I can make my point clear. video recorded on S8+ is far better then the video recorded on OnePlus 8. I don't know how, but trust me guys samsung is years ahead then OnePlus 8 in terms of camera. my default video recording settings are 4k cine 60fps & 4k 60fps. when I compared the video of both on tv (I have a 4k uhd smart 55" tv), the samsung S8+ video was looking so awesome on tv & OnePlus 8's video was not at all good. at many times it felt like I opted for wrong phone in terms of camera.

Won't argue with your assessment. Samsung is quite ahead of oneplus in terms of image and video processing as you'd expect from them. But nobody buys an OP device for the camera right? People like me who want the smooth and fast experience of oneplus and don't need a great camera find OP8's camera enough. Also OP tends to improve the cameras with software updates in every device so I'm exepcting the same here. It's the performance and user experience that most people buy a OP device for.
