Comments like that are the reason owners of the OP2 got ripped off. Keep up that way of thinking, you probably buy a new phone every few months anyway.

    Dunnow

    what is an OP2?

don't they go skipping one each time?

    OnePlus 1
    OnePlus 3
    OnePlus 5
    and next will be
    OnePlus 7 no?

why not just go oneplus 9 if going head to head with the competition, 6 or 7 already sounds outdated doesn't it.

    Samsung S9
    iPhone 8/X
    Huawei....10/11

    etc
    etc

Oneplus 6 already sounds two years out of date

Keep in mind though that Android, as AOSP is gonna implement support for the notch since Android P onwards, so, supposedly, google is working around that. I don't know how though. And I'd rather have a cutout for the camera and earpeace than a notch, would be prettier I think, or put it all to the side, the right one, so you only push the battery, wifi, bt, signal icons, instead of taking space from the notifications

This is really disappointing. I'm a big fan myself but have been out of touch with the forums as of late. It's sad to see how their original philosophy has disappeared, similar to how Google's motto of "Don't be evil" seems to have gone down the drain, as well. Can't we get a company that sticks to it's promises after it gets big???

Out of interest how did this all go down dis it get anywhere?

Do you think this was a potential early catalyst for the newly released maintenance schedule?

    That's a very good question.

If not anything else, it probably showed them that the community holds them accountable.

At that time, I just got radio silence, but in hindsight I understand why they did it and actually think it might have been for the best. OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X were too big of a failure for them to try to save them.

I too would like to think this made the oneplus meetings and remained there and in the back of their minds for some time.

Well done, and as you say some things are past saving so perhaps that's why the OP3/3T models seem so sturdy and well built.

TBF I suspect you'd struggle with spares for most phones that have been out of production for nearly 2 years.
