Duolingo is genertally the best for basics, however, when you can I would suggest signing up for some group lessons. it helps learning a language.

    Hello Allison from Minnesota!
What a nice introduction - now we know everything about you. :D

    Willkommen im Forum!
Es gibt auch einige deutschsprachige Threads hier.

The best ways to learn a new language are:
    - a native speaking pal or
    - to go to the other country for longer than just a holiday.

    Viel Spaß hier!
    Länder, um Deutsch zu lernen:
Deutschland, Österreich, teilweise Schweiz, vielleicht Südtirol.
    :)

    Greetings from Austria (Österreich)

What are some words or phrases that help with typical German pronunciation so I can train my voice to sound as if speaking with a German accent...as opposed to just pronouncing words how they are spelt?

    Example.
    For a Boston Accent practice this phrase;
Pahk yah cahr at the hahvard Yahrd
(Park your car at the Harvard yard)

Ja, ich habe ein Tandem app, aber Ich bin nicht bereit für Gespräche.

I'm great with reading and writing with correct grammar when practicing in my language learning apps/sites.

    Ich spreche nicht laut genug.
