I experienced the high CPU idle after update to oxygen OS 5.0.2. that before update, it is just 300mhz for all cores.
I check running service, all apps is okay.
    anyone experience this as well?

@idkwhoiam322 said he reported this bug to another user posting the same topic. You should submit it as a bug too to OnePlus

I have the same problem. But my post was deleted. I wrote about this problem to Support and I received answer, but didn't help. Kris (customer support) gave me advice Wipe Cache. But like I said it's not help.

Idle is same for me too. Didn't see if idle was 300MHZ before the update though.

Yeah same here, not noticed a battery issue but it was 300 in 5.01.
Maybe related to the patch for that CPU bug ?

CPU bug Patch seems to slow Down the Cores. So to compensate with it, base Clock speed has been changed to 518mhz

one plus has bumped the minimum freq to 518 on little core and 806 on big core so it's normal

So battery life will be lower on the 5.0.2 update?

Doesn't higher CPU frequencies mean battery is consumed a bit more than the lower cycles? I am not sure if the difference will be that much. Although, from my experience, battery is dropping a little bit faster than before.

This. I've noticed unusually high battery drain after the update and while I was messing with magisk modules I checked the kernel manager and saw that the cpu core frequency when idle was higher than I remembered. This was of course without modification on my part.

If the cpu performance was supposed to slow down because of the security patch, why mess with the frequency and make the battery drain 2x faster? Dealing with one issue they brought back battery problems which were fixed in previous versions. Hoping for a quick fix.

5.0.1 was the least buggy oreo at least for me. Should've probably just stuck with nougat.

The battery drain is worse than I expected. From 100% to 30% in 6h. It usually took 8+ to get to 30% with just browsing the net and the phone being idle. 2-3h lost because of this.

The more you charge your battery, the more it would depreciate. Resulting in lesser back up sa days pass by. Updates can optimize the battery but ultimatly it will degrade with more charge cycle.
