Sound High pitch noise while calling Jun 27, 2017

    Today I noticed that my OP5 makes some high pitched noise from top front speaker while calling. It is a bit like the sound a speaker makes when a transmitting phone is too close to it but very high frequency. Might be some interference from the antenna getting to the speaker. Has anyone else noticed it? I guess I have to return the phone as making calls longer than a minute drives me nuts.

    I have the exact same problem and the person im talking too reports wierd radio static ("Like an old modem or something"), It seems to be caused by the WIFI being used. If i disable WIFI it becomes much better, but the small high pitch noise is still noticable in my end. But with the WIFI on (And in use!) you can hear some sorts of clicks from the hardware and changes in the pitch of the noise.

    Any word on this issue? Do i need to wait for another software update (got 4.5.3) or do i need a replacement device?

    Seems to be a hardware issue, I will suggest raising a ticket and getting a replacement unit.

    I have the same problem, But it is not persistent. The sound comes at times on low volumes on the loud speaker and ear speaker. I have purchased this from the online OnePlus store from India. Any suggestions how to take it forward?

    I have hopes that it can be fixed through software. I'm pretty sure most models suffer from this issue, but a lot of people can't hear it since it is a high pitched sound. Try turning on the screen while making a call, - for some reason the sound dissapears when I do that, - is it the same for your guys?

    But if you manage to solve it by replacing your unit, please write it here :)

    A very remote possibility with a probability of 1 in million :D.
    I would suggest you to follow the following step :

    1. Contact customer support, explain the problem.
    2. Reach to a conclusion that its a hardware issue
    3. Ask CS on how to get a replacement.

    I thing this should work.

    I have also a same issue. Currently solution is turn off the noise cancellation from the phone settings.
    After turn off the noise cancellation the issue will not reproduced.

    Also when you feel the high pitch sound put your finger at bottom mic then issue will also resolve.

    i dont know its hardware issue or not?

    op5 owners needs good thick socks to wrap the phone up to avoid noise while calling. or don't call at all lol
