Honest Review of 8T

It's insanely good value for money.
65W is stunningly fast, the screen is nice to look at (120Hz all the things, tint is still there but less tint compared to 8 Pro and Nord). Performance is stellar, as always with OnePlus. Camera is solid, nothing world-changing, but will keep up with the big boys in most scenarios.
Battery life is superb for me.

Definitely get the 12GB RAM version, as 8GB sometimes felt insufficient on my 8 Pro.

8T has its shortcomings (5MP macro cam is weird to have for example), but overall, it's the best phone that OnePlus have made so far.

I get comparable screen on times and I am a bit disappointed in the Battery with 120 fps mode on. My 1+ 5t had a better battery life even after almost 3 years... I get like an hour more with Battery Saver. Standy drain is pretty low but screen on is pretty high

Yes even I was getting better battery on op6 I used for 2 years without any issue. I think op8T still few apps need improve for android 11.

There is a bug in android 11 with the phones refresh rate. Under 50% brightness and darkmode on the refresh rates Stays at 120hz even in idle.

Yes, I have read this occasion in the feedback section. Afterwards I activated the option to show fps in the developer settings and could reproduce this occurrence by myself.

How much are you getting SOT on you OP8T. Have you done any tweeks to get rid of the bugs and how is the performance now.

The overall performance is great. I got rid of the darkmode, at least for now, and changed my background from a dark color to a brighter one. Seems like the hz stays on 120hz in idle with dark background also.
I will investigate further if that fix the problem. So far I had just around 4-5h sot and that sucks imo. I hope they will fix the bugs in OOs11 soon.

I am gonna keep my OP5 . If I buy OP 8T I will exchange my OP 3T because OP5 is just amazing even after 3 years of use with no problems popping up yet.

I like oneplus and if i was going to purchase an android i would definitely purchase oneplus. The thing which i dont like about oneplus is their camera and their support for old devices. Which makes me to think twice.

I would say keep oneplus 5 for one more year. And if going for oneplus always go for a T variant those are cheap and best.

I owned op5 and then upgraded to op8t last week.
You already know all the details of op8t, but things that I noticed on upgrading is:
    1. Op UI, alert slider, battery backup (till 2 years) and performance is almost similar.
    2. High Refresh rate is noticeably good. Screen quality is good too. HDR on YouTube is awesome.
    3. Phone is long with less bezels. Phone feels good in hand.
    4. Speakers are stereo and hence feels better and louder.
    5. Camera is better then op5 obviously but still feels it could be better.
    6. Gaming performance felt almost similar in most of the cases. At times the performance is better but the phone gets heated up too.
    7. Network connectivity over-all is better.
Everything things feels good but I think that camera could have been better

I am happy with 8T overall, think it's worth the price tag
