"How long til android L, I can't wait"
"When will the OTA be released? "
"Don't think we will get cm12s because OPO and CM hate each other"

Why are people whinging about an update when you can easily give lollipop a try right now?

The whinging is usually followed by
"I don't want to brick my phone"
    "What's a Rom?"
"I heard these builds are all full of bugs so I'll wait (and whinge some more)"
    etc etc etc....

People, plenty of excellent builds exist that work just fine and are definitely daily driver ready.
here is a few places to start
Both of these builds work great at the minute
    Temaseks
    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/rom-bacon-5-0-2-temaseks-unofficial-build.219509/
    liquidsmooth
    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/rom-android-l-near-stock-liquidsmooth-install.185669/unread
Plus many others you can find by search Google, YouTube, xda and this forum

Ffs Google.com , please learn some thing about flashing rom
Geez use Youtube you don't even have to read, just watch

Use a toolbox for all your needs to make it a simple as its going to get
    Example,
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/toolbox-oneplus-one-toolbox-t2808987

Once you've got your bootloader unlocked with a custom recovery you can just download a rom straight to you phone and install straight away, at this point in time it seriously couldnt be easier to do all these things to you device.
and if you don't like it you can revert straight back to a backup you have saved.

So instead of posting or reading posts about when is android L coming etc etc , learn and give it a go it's already here!
Remember backup before you start, imo don't dirty flash it's always better with a clean install.
titanium backup works perfect on both of these so that's your apps, app data, user data, sms sorted.
Dont be scared to have a go, Android is made for doing exactly this and the Oneplus is definitely made for it

I'm just gonna wait for a stable Cyanogenmod build. Have no problem with using kitkat as a daily driver till then.

Kitkat is really good especially CM11 but obviously once I seen all the extra new features of lollipop I wanted it immediately. However, I prefer stable builds so i'll wait.

I would normally do this but my dad uses my OPO now and he won't comprehend the changes of a different ROM.

That's the thing they are "stable" perfect daily drivers. Try one if you don't like it just revert back no harm.

Nice post @mmc77, but who is going to give support with bug fixes? You?

CM is a relatively large group of devs and even they can't get things right yet some random, home-cooked ROM is going to be good enough to be a daily driver?

At least with an official ROM you have some level of support ( yes, I know OPO has been spotty about support but we're talking in abstract absolutes anyway). I've been using various Android devices since the HTC Magic and decided to leave the messing around with ROMs to people that have more time on their hands.

I'll wait for the official CM12S build or whatever official L ROM is supported by OPO.

Patience is a virtue, hence I will be waiting for both CM 12 based Android 5.0 and OP new ROM supposed to be released next month, compare both, look at reviews and feed back from members for both then decide which is better... Even it took a month of waiting, no need to rush.
