    Bassick, Jan 27, 2015 :
Edit: The Chrome Plug-in doenst work for the Oneplus Two at the moment. Please leave a comment if u solved this problem so i can add this to the instruction.

I often read that a lot of people have troubles to get Helium working on their OnePlus One so i thought to do an describtion how i did this to work :) Have fun with it :)

You dont need root or the fastboot mode to do this (testet only on the 44S Firmware :) )

    1.Step:
Downloade Google USB Driver (http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html) [IMG]

2.Step: Connect you OPO with a PC

3.Step: Open the device Manager in Windows
    [IMG]
here u can see that your oneplus one isnt recognised by windows (A0001)

4.Step: now rightclick on A0001 and click on Update DriverSoftware

5.Step: click on Browse my computer for driver software

6.Step: Now select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

7.Step: now click twice on Show All Devices

8.Step: click on data carrier (i dont know if this is right in english but if not look on the picture :) )

9.Step: Now u have to search your google usb driver (for example D:\usb_driver).
Important is that u go first to the folder "usb_driver" and than u click on open.

    10.Step: click ok

11.Step: now select the Android ADB Interface
    [IMG]

    12.Step click on continue

13.Step: now there will be a warning just click on yes.

after this your phone should be like this in the device manager
    [IMG]
it could be that its called android ADB or samsung ADB both is okay :)
now we have the driver but we need one step more Because the computer now recognize the phone but the phone doesnt want to connect to Helium desktop.

    download this chrome plug in

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/helium-backup/gpglbgbpeobllokpmeagpoagjbfknanl

this is the same like helium for desktop
the difference is it works :)
now u have to make this steps

1.Step: start Helium Desktop and wait for the green check
2.Step: keep Helium Desktop open and start the mobile application
3.Step: start Helium Chrome plugin and wait till the green check
    4.Step: enjoy :)

here is a picture of helium on my phone and it worked :)

sorry for my bad english i hope u can understand this :D

To be honest the most important step is
    the Helium chrome plugin

I have an Galaxy S5 and just plugin it and using chrome plug it worked perfectly.
Was so frustrated that the helium desktop app does not work at all

Thanks for the chrome plugin idea.

Hey @Bassick , thanks so much for this. Couple of noob questions.

1.) On step 8, as per your picture, I should click on 'Generic USB Hub', right? Or should I choose the first option, which is 'Enhanced Storage Device' (screenshot attached)? Just wanna be sure so that I don't mess up - also, didn't see any option for 'data carrier' so I'm assuming I should go by what your screenshot says.

2.) Even dumber question - I have to use Chrome and the Helium plugin, simply installing the program and running the app from my OPO won't be enough, correct?

    Thanks a bunch!

Great for a man who will soon unlock his bootloader. And eventually root as well. The is is great back for those who want root to.

New issues. I don't know what's going on since I got the green check mark on the helium desktop application the first time I launched it and made an initial backup, but in my second try it just says waiting for device even tho the phone is plugged in and the drivers are installed - no green check mark :(

Hey @Bassick. Thank you for doing this. I know its a dumb questions, but I'm not a computer geek. I have followed until step 8, but I have difficulty especially from step 9-11. I need your help. :(

I have downloaded the latest_usb_driver windows. Since it's zipped folder, so I extract all. But when I opened the usb driver folder, it shows different things than what you showed up there.

Here is the screenshot of it:

Here is the next page after I clicked on it:

Here is the screenshot after I clicked 'Have Disk'
    upload_2015-3-5_11-9-1.png

I'm not sure which folder should I choose after that

Sorry for the long thread. :(. But thank you again in advance. Looking forward for your reply. :)

The Chrome plug-in was the key for me. I saw this tip buried deep in another thread, and haven't been able to find again to say "thanks".

So many thanks to whoever posted it before. And well done Basick, this should save a lot of heartache!!

One final thing. My restore did not work at first; I needed an extra reboot after installing helium on the rest phone.
