Try to set a pin for lockbox

Then enter the same pin on your folder.

Come back to say the result.

I tried this and it didn't work. I'm desperately trying to not delete my pictures in the hidden folder. Memories/pictures of my husband. Any help would be great 😔

On 9 Pro on 12 wiping data of gallery does nothing, neither to the files within, nor removes the pin. The pin seems to be in parts I can't reset.
On 11 however it could be different. I don't recall actually having any lock on the gallery app. Could lock feature only have been enabled in some regions?
Locked out without a pin would only be fixed by enabling fingerprint unlock, similarly to when people got locked out in File Manager when they upgraded from 4 pin to 6 pin without offering a way to upgrade the pin first 😜 Fingerprint let users unlock lockbox despite the then incorrect old pin, thus saving them from data loss. As far as I can tell, it should be possible to do for Gallery too.

If this is is a bug or simply forgotten... The difference would be a important bugfix or a suggested feature.

When they messed up and broke File Manager I contacted bughunters via the feedback tool and described what had happened and then forwarded them to a user that had been locked out... A test apk was made and it was verfied that fingerprint allowed to unlock lockbox. The difference here could be that they messed up themselfs.
But it could be worth reporting that you are locked out from important files. Maybe they can help with some special apk. It might take a while though.
A other path to a possible solution could be via support. www.oneplus.com/support
