    Superuser techmods, May 24, 2019 :
With the help from the guide on XDA I've rooted my OnePlus 7 pro, it's in its early stages obviously but mine is now running swift installer and is dark themed on most apps.
    check out this video.
it's now been updated and I've made a new guide so make sure to check that out.

You obviously haven't read the rules here.

Should note for anyone reading this that it will lower your Widevine to L3 so no more HD Netflix.

    Download full ROM (1.7GB)
    Boot TWRP
    Install downloaded ROM
    Flash Magisk
    Boot to recovery
    Reboot system

Unlocking the bootloader. However, you can still cast the content to another device

Why you even want to root it ?

I agree I have rooted every phone I've had all the way back to my Motorola Bionic. I rooted every OnePlus phone from OP1 to OP6 and went through the aggravation of fixing all the problems that goes with it. I was tired of the of dealing with the unexpected so I went back to stock on my OP6. no more problems.Rooting is exciting and becomes and addiction. The phones today with all the customization's built in I feel it is no longer needed. This is just my opinion and I do admit I miss looking at the forums and all the Roms the flashing etc. There are some great Devs out there and there's plenty of information to get everything done. But remember things can and will go wrong i'm old and don't have the patience for it anymore but did enjoy it.

Thanks again, good guide to read especially about partitioning.

silly question: Will unlocking bootloader and rooting my device void my warranty of my phone?
