Enable developer options by taping build number in about phone section. Then in developer options change USB configuration to MTP

    That should bot be needed.

    Just connect the phone.
    Unlock it.
Select the notification that says chsrging.
    Select mtp option.
The phone should be now visible in the computer.

Why would you want to transfer on a computer in 2017?

We usually transfer them on a hard disk drive...

No need to do that as this will not make the phone visible on a PC
The way @Dunnow describes is the correct way.

Download on your computer the program Android File Transfer. It is the official Google's software for any Android device.

Try Software Data Cable from Playstore - the app is free and very useful.

    NO NO NO!

Stop telling people to enable developer options.

    DO NOT ENABLE DEVELOPER OPTIONS!

Developer options have absolutely NOTHING to do with MTP. You don't need drivers. Just plug in a USB cable and you'll see a notification of USB options. Open it and select "Transfer Files".

NO. You do not need special drivers for file transfer. Drivers are for ADB, not MTP

If @Dunnow's instructions don't work, the problem is your PC. If its Windows, contact Microsoft or Geeksquad or your cousin and tell him your MTP is messed up.

If everything fails, the built in file manager has FileDasj, where you can transfer files from and to the PC via a hotspot without data required.

Or else get an app called Xender, it can very easily manage the files via a browser, through a hotspot as well. I use this app mostly because I don't need to carry around cables. You get around 6MBps of transfer speeds.

This remains crazy. It should be just connect phone to computer and there they are. Why does OnePlus make it so hard??
