How to use OnePlus Connect in Y Series?

    Hi everyone,

    We launched new Y Series to the market recently, and they could also be controlled by OnePlus Connect App, follow the steps and start your viewing experience with OnePlus Y Series.

    Step 1. Download “OnePlus Connect”(Version 1.4.0) from Google Play Store or App Store and install it on your phone.

    Step 2. Update the TV system to the latest version.
    Update path: "Settings" - "Device Preference" - "About" - "System update"

    After finishing system updating, please restart the TV.
    Check if the TV is updated to the latest version is "Wed June 17 07:22:10 UTC 2020" .

    Step 3. Open "Connect Server" on TV for the first time you connect TV to OnePlus Connect. (Long press “Home” button will lead to the following App list)

    Keep TV on the following page while connecting.

    Step 4. Make sure your phone and TV are connected to the same network before searching for devices.

    Step 5. Start searching for TV by pressing the button in the upper right corner. Choose your OnePlus TV among the device list.

    Step 6. TV is connected successfully when the button turns green like this.
    The next time you use OnePlus Connect, you don’t have to open "Connect Server" on TV again.

    Hi. After clicking on system update, it is stuck on "downloading". Is it downloading or something is wrong? As there is no progress bar. My internet is fine as i played a few videos on YouTube before clicking on update.

    Yes. Restarting did the trick. It started downloading then.

    I do not have WIFI but I use hotspot. We have two smartphones at home. I tried this procedure in both ways. While my phone data connecting to tv n with the other phone too. But not detecting. Both connect app n tv updated to the latest version. Please help.

    If you are using a phone that supports chromecast, then there should be an option by the name "Screen Cast" or "Screen Mirroring". You can tap that setting and OnePlus TV should be showing up in the available devices.
    If the above method doesn't work,
    Try installing Google Home App and the OnePlus TV listed in Google Home App should have Screen Cast feature to mirror your phone's screen.

    Using OnePlus Y 32" TV from around 9 days. These are the things I notice.

    - Good picture quality in Netflix and Amazon prime. Watching in YouTube is average.
    - Easy to connect Bluetooth devices like Airpods, Mouse, Speaker etc.
    - Nice remote.

    - Worst OnePlus connect app. Connects rarely, mostly it will not connect afterall I have oneplus mobile, same wifi network, speed also 100mbps. If it connects also there is a delay in working.
    - Speakers are not good and has no effects when it comes to music.
    - Very slow booting sleep. Takes almost 15 second to turn on.
    - Atleast 3 times should click on Power button on remote for TV to turn on.
    - Apps like Amazon prime/Netflix gets stuck when I direct click on Dedicated remote button. Again I should restart TV and select from display options for smooth working.
    - Software is too much Laggy.
    - Bluetooth connects well but if I switch the same headset to my phone I couldn't connect to tv as there is no connect option. Again u should click on forget and then Pair from start.
    - Sometimes when I turn volume up/down I should wait 3-4 second to reflect on my tv.
    - Simply touch on display I can find liquid.

    Please find a solution.
    I'm a biggest OnePlus fan and have been using and referring to others. If this is the case it's hard to use.
    Hope this will be corrected in upcoming updates.

    I've connected my oneplus connect app on mobile to 43" TV successfully. But after switching off the TV and restarting again I need to go to Connect app and search and connect again . It doesn't remember. Pls let me know solution
