The best way of marketing, no burden of media expense for advertising.

As a software dev I love this article, and I love that someone is taking a risk like this to put an end to overpriced mainstream companies holding the market hostage.
Wish you guys the best of luck, hopefully you guys start a revolution not just in the mobile phone sector, not even just the electronics sector, but also services etc.. where there are just too many large companies keeping prices ridiculously high.

this a really good business plan.
its good that you had a back up.
to start something like this its really risky, as you know.
business by word of mouth is one of the best, but at the same time very risky.
but once you have a product like this, its just a matter of time when you will take off.
this is great product, and half price of other phones.
    great stuff, really is.

all the best with the new ideas, maybe even phones :)

That's really interesting, I like the way you guys make business. I'm sure in a year or two everyone will know about the OnePlus (I'm already seeing more and more people talking about it on facebook).

Over time the cost of components would come down, and their volumes would go up. They would streamline the manufacturing process and the profits would increase.

Thank you for sharing. I think this is a great business strategy and a way to target consumers (like myself) who want a good quality phone at an affordable price. The word of mouth spreading is a good marketing strategy as well in terms of increasing sales volume and reputation!

The next thing you should also think about is making a computer, using the same philosophy. I will drop my MacAir immediately. Apple no longer has a philosophy. It's just business now. So it's time they get out.

I'll be waiting for a OneplusComputer.
