[HowTo] Install OOS 4.0 - Nougat without OTA Update Dec 31, 2016

    For those who don't want to wait anymore for OTA Update or "complicate" themselves with VPN, follow these simple steps to install the new update.

    1. Download the update from here OxygenOS 4.0
    2. Copy the zip file on the phone, doesn't matter where (remeber the location)
    2. Hold the Power button
    3. Reboot -> Recovery
    (you need to have "Advanced reboot" checked in "Developer options")
    4. On the new screen select English
    5. Select "Install from local storage"
    6. Go to zip file location, select it
    7. Wait 1-2 mins for the installation to complete
    8. Press back button, go to "Wipe cache"
    9. Reboot.
    10. Enjoy OP3T Nougat update

    PS: This is the official update that you will get over OTA if you're willing to wait, it is NOT Beta.

    I was using Beta 1 since this morning and I could not find any bugs. Everything is working, battery is good (no drain issues).
    I presume that there are no differences between this update and Beta 1.

    For that you need to copy the file inside root folder.

    But i dont think, the file system will be modified. To get improve in performance, file system should be partitioned to F2FS right ? Anyway this method will upgrade to Nougat but not the file system.

    It is the official update, the one you'll get over OTA.
    The update is incremental over OTA, you can't know for sure when you'll have it.

    Locked bootloader. Stable build 3.5.4.

    Downloaded and tried installing both the OTA & full ROM packages.

    Installation falling on both the methods I.e. sideloading and choosing package from inside the system Updater or from recovery.

    Any suggestions??

    1.Download 'Opera VPN ' .
    2.Connect to Canada region.
    3.Goto updates
    4.you will get nougat update
