I am not able to get this benifit i tried to call at customer service. They told community will help via OnePlus 7 Pro

    Ok. So in which case the device is already linked to another account. So you have to first unlink it from old account and set the device free. Thereafter you can re link to existing account

    You have to login to old account, and either
    1. Continue to use it or
    2. Unlink the device from old account and link to new

    Ok. In that case nothing much can be done. This is a community forum and not support section. Users don't have access to any backend information or ability to change backend information.

    No. I think this is the end. The customer support has no mechanism as well to change or modify the linking.

    However, I would be interested to know what CS told the user and why he was sent to community forum.

    that’s exactly my point, I see it happen more often lately and it’s a bit opposite of what “OnePlus” claims this community isn’t: an official support channel.

    oh well, maybe some reason to dig up some old threads and ask.
