Ok. So in which case the device is already linked to another account. So you have to first unlink it from old account and set the device free. Thereafter you can re link to existing account

No. I think this is the end. The customer support has no mechanism as well to change or modify the linking.
However, I would be interested to know what CS told the user and why he was sent to community forum.
that’s exactly my point, I see it happen more often lately and it’s a bit opposite of what “OnePlus” claims this community isn’t: an official support channel.
