I charged my Oneplus this weekend when I was watching a movie. I came back after one hour and checked the phone and burned myself hard when I unplugged the device. I though it was a eletric shock but it was the phone that almost started to burn. The phone and cable was very hot.
I contacted Oneplus but they won't help me becouse I was using a third party charging cable.
It did not matter that I use the original power adapter or that I use this to charge other devices BEFORE and even AFTER this accient. It still works and no problems at all. SO the phone needs to be the problem but Oneplus is not taking responsibility at all.

This was the last drop for me. I can't invest in a company that don't support there users at all.

(Of couse fine if they whould take in the phone and see that is was the cords or something else but to not even look at the phone is just bad service)

I don't know the full extent of your claim. I hope something works out for you.
But most manufacturers don't cover third party accessories that damage the phone.

I knew the risks in getting the oneplus one, being it was a new phone from a new company. if it broke i wouldn't bother complaining. just get a new phone that you like and in the meantime rma and wait. if you do get a replacement sell the opo. if they give you a repair quote, weigh in the options of whether its worth to fix and sell later or to just trash the phone/sell as is.

I had that with a Samsung and got the same response. Later I found it happened because the cable didn't support the right voltage. That might also be your problem...

If the 3rd party charger was at fault and the OPO is not defective and charging is not a hazard, just buy a new swap cover.

You have no idea about how this world works... Do you? This world is cruel. It's the harsh truth that Nobody covers warranty for products damaged by third party accessories. You'll have to accept this cruel truth of life and move on..

And it's not just oneplus.. You can trust nobody... Nobody

I don't use the 1+1 cable coz even just a slight movement and the phone stops charging. I use a saumsung cable never had any issue with any other phones with it.
Why would 1+1 help you? Hell they won't even help you if you have an issue with the phone itself not cause by 3rd party accessories. They will try anything they could to put blame back on the customer and make you go through his next ti impossible RMA process so you give up and they don't have to replace your phone.

I feel your pain, but you can't blame anyone other than yourself here. You shouldn't have told them you were using third-party equipment. Every company is like this, with justification. This is your own fault.

Even if the cable was the problem. Why won't Oneplus investigate the cause?
