    Dr. Indest , Jul 29, 2015 :
    Background:
Major ROM developers are now starting to incorporate this into their ROMs. Exudos started the movement with their 7/25 build.

In a nutshell, ROM devs are working together on an Open Source project to make a host like system that will block the installation of pirated apps, malware and patchers. This code will be free for any dev to add into their ROMs.

Two ROMs that implement this feature are Exudos and BrokenOS.

    Solution:
Apply this Antibody, after flashing Exodus.

    Works on:
Verified to work on Exodus (7/28)

If you want to debate the ethical issues revolving this AntiPiracy measure, please discuss here.

Don't like flashing, follow @vivek289's tutorial here.

<New Xposed module is now the endorsed fix>

Warning: Dave has threaten to make this patch cause a FC with future updates. Make sure to backup before applying this patch.

Use this patch at your own risk. I will not be responsible for Dave's immaturity.

    Still works on 8/8 build.

Sad part is that I never installed Lucky P till today. Thanks to our finest Exodus devs.

The thing is, they are curating a list of apps they hate that most of us hadn't even heard of before.

Most people who hear about this are going to take a look at the code and see a laundry list of 'naughty' apps these devs don't like.

It's asking for people to go try them in a messed up kind of way.

They made it into a frickin whose who list. Tell them they can't have it, watch what they want then...

This is so true. The only app on that list I heard of was LP.... Never installed it though until a few min ago to test the patch. Oh well, I am now on CM 12.1 again :).... Gotta love TWRP :D.

Should we still use exodus? It would seem to me the only way to stop this stuff for good is to stop downloading it, until the developers change.

And we are taking the risk of one day they might change the settings and our app crashes again. So the answer is a no-no for me. :p

Tag them in maybe? (I feel like I'm starting a war)

If you don't want to use a older settings.apk, there is another way via adb.

    - Open an command shell in windows
    - type "adb shell"
    - type "su" and grant superuser rights on you phone
    - type "pm disable com.android.settings/org.antipiracy.support.AntiPiracyInstallReceiver"
    - type "pm disable com.android.settings/org.antipiracy.support.AntiPiracyNotifyService"

You can also do it with tasker or directly with a terminal emulation on you phone.
