    Hello all,

So thanks to some support, I have received an invite and placed an order. Now I am waiting for my OPO to reach me. Meanwhile, I was wondering about what things should I keep in mind, what items should I lookout for (to purchase as accessories) and what things should I learn.

This will be my first android phone, apart from one that I used about a year ago. But that was just for a month. I have used Blackberry for about 6 months. Otherwise, it is all Nokia phones.

So, any sort of tutorials I should be reading, for CM? for OPO? any advice, suggestion or comments will be very welcome with respect to any of above for regarding purchase of accessories (earphone/headphone/power bank/protecting cover/case etc).

    Thanks

I strongly recommend to get a cover, but I think that's a bit obvious. Software-wise I suggest changing the keyboard with Swiftkey, it's probably just an habit but I can't type without it.

Thanks Arci996. Yes, I would like to get a cover but since i have never used one for my any of the phones before, I am confused what kind of a cover should I buy. flip case, protective case, screen protector?? Swiftkey, I will try once I get my hands on OPO.

I highly suggest you get a tempered glass screen protector - Casebase or Orzly. Whenever I get my phone I'll buy Casebase and run it naked, without any cases, 'cause I like it more that way. But if you want a case get a Diztronic or a Ringke Fusion.

Unlock bootloader right away if you don't want to lose data if you decide to flash something...

Read as you go, as you run into problems or fond yourself wanting to do something. There's nothing device specific in android generally except software (excluding apps)

I would not bother with a case. Many drop tests have shown that, unless it's a heavy duty case like an otterbox, cases won't prevent your device from breaking. Another potential downside its that cases are ugly, but that's up to personal taste.
