Experiencing this same issue on 5T with A5010_43_180808
Apps don't get notifications until you open them, so I add them to Don't Optimise list, they work for a few days then silently fall back to Optimise and the notifications stop. Extremely frustrating and missed important notifications because of this

Same issue here on OnePlus 3, most recently noticed with Alarm Clock Xtreme (but I think I've noticed it with email apps in the past). Luckily I use multiple alarm apps, at least one of which seems to pass through "optimisation"...

Seems like there's no fix from the community or OnePlus as of yet?

To everyone experiencing this issue, try 'locking' the app in the recent app list, and seeing if that helps?
I have done this with the app I'm having trouble with (StayFocused) and it seems to have helped.

I rely on BlueMail and Slack for work and this being incredibly troublesome. This happens with ANY app except for Whatsapp for some reason, I've tried everything and the only option is to fully turn off doze but then ALL apps are pushing data, this shouldn't keep being ignored by OnePlus, it's pretty disgraceful, I'm definitely changing to another manufacturer if this doesn't get resolved.

Locking the app in the recents-view will only lock it from being "closed" if you hit the "x" on the bottom of the screen :)

it doesn't matter which app, it's the OnePlus software that has the bug in it. how to get this sorted with their team?

I thought so too, but strangely it seems to have helped. 4 days and no issues so far, before it would have stopped within 24 hours

Happens for me too on my OnePlus 6 with OxygenOS 9.0.2. Very annoying!

Most recently, in the morning, all my "not optimized" apps were reset to "optimized" again. Except Tasker. Not sure what happened to trigger that. My device entered battery saving mode during the night because the battery went below 15 percent. Maybe that caused the reset....?
Well, but it shouldn't. I don't want to go through all my apps every day to reset some to "not optimized".

Edit: nope, that was not it. No idea when and how it happens...

Happens to me as well. I have to manually not optimize it at least twice a week to keep getting my mails. Frequently on BlueMail app.
    Sometimes on Hinge app.

    OnePlus 3/Android 8.0.0/OxygenOS 5.0.6

I was just going to buy a 6T but this issue seems crazy. And moreover it's open since half on an year. Looks like I'm going to buy another phone from another vendor. Goodbye 1+

I can confirm this just happened today with my phone, so it's still persistent. Not a big issue for me, uncertain whether the updates of apps cause this or if its after reboot or so.

Since I've installed Android Pie on my OnePlus 5 it seems to be working correctly. Apps no longer disappear from the "not optimized" list.

Just saw some news about this on Android Central, checked my not-optimized-apps list, and wouldn't you know it... empty! This is breaking Android Wear (my watch loses connection and burns battery trying to reconnect), widgets aren't updating, even Android Messages for web is broken when it's set to optimize.

This wasn't a problem with my Pixel that I just replaced with a 1+6t. I could leave almost everything in "Optimized," and things would still work. With this phone, anything that's "optimized" is effectively killed.

I did some testing at the behest of support. There's something coming up after restart that's resetting things. The battery optimization settings are maintained for about 30 seconds after restarting.
