In Response to the Gorilla Glass 3 Rumors

I've had lots of GG phones, GG1 to GG3. Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant but not scratch proof. No matter how careful I am, eventually something will scratch the display. If you do not use a screen protector, your phone display will eventually get tiny scratches. There is no way around it.

This could have been said, but I think corning doesn't list them just because they buy from a reseller instead of having direct contact with them.. So while I agree that it feels a bit stupid I just don't think there's something OnePlus can do about it(if not change reseller that is). I don't think they gain anything by keeping it a secret as the guy under me seems to think.. Unless that's a sarcastic comment towards you, I'm getting lost in between which one of you believes what now :p sorry for intervening, carry on.

Haha, nah, it's not a secret per se whether Apple or Oneplus uses GG.

The JDI or whatever 3rd-party buys the GG and then fuses and cuts the panels according to their customers' specifications.

It is this portion that is likely a business secret. If you see the picture OnePlus posted, they redacted the parts of the specifications :)

Right.. That could be! But then again that's on cornings side of things, so they're the "shady" ones in this matter?

Sometimes I doubt that one plus one is using gg3. But after reading this my doubt is cleared

No real conspiracy in this three party thing, unless a big conspiracy how Corning, the Fuser and the phone maker Oneplus conspires to sell untempered glass as GG3.

Three companies's rep on the line, if Oneplus is lying, TPK and Corning would be concerned. Oneplus sold 500000 phones equals 100million dollars and more in turn over, big enough for Corning to take legal effort. But so far, at least three forumners have emailed Corning and all Corning did was say they cannot divulge business agreements. If OPO didn't use GG3, how hard is it for Corning to say NO, OPO doesn't use GG3?

Don't forget Murphys law. The chances of Buttered side of the toast falling down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
    Murphy's law of OnePlus
More expensive the phone, greater the chance of glass side getting the hit !
