    I'd like to share this:

My drilling machine today fell over. Hitting my OnePlus 8 Pro full force with the 2.5mm drill point directly in the middle of the screen. The drill broke in two.

My heart stopped for a while.

    But then:
The plastic screen protector that came with the device was torn.
But the screen itself did not even have the faintest scratch. That must be a screen, harder than steel!

Great, gorilla glass did it's job! Good that it was a center blow though, it's weakest at the edges.

Less area to disperse the blow over and more internal stress in the glass I would assume.

Corning* for the glass at least. Even samsung needs to buy that somewhere.

yeah, stiff boundary condition. kind of like with the cybertruck glass. After hitting the door with the hammer, it shifted the boundary condition.
