VIMVa , via OnePlus 8 Pro , Jan 26, 2021 : I'd like to share this: My drilling machine today fell over. Hitting my OnePlus 8 Pro full force with the 2.5mm drill point directly in the middle of the screen. The drill broke in two. My heart stopped for a while. But then: The plastic screen protector that came with the device was torn. But the screen itself did not even have the faintest scratch. That must be a screen, harder than steel!
Tokolozi , Jan 26, 2021 : Great, gorilla glass did it's job! Good that it was a center blow though, it's weakest at the edges.

sfomin , Jan 27, 2021 : yeah, stiff boundary condition. kind of like with the cybertruck glass. After hitting the door with the hammer, it shifted the boundary condition.
