Instagram Dark Theme Not Enabled?

    Hello OnePlus friends,

An update came to Instagram recently that enables dark theme for any device running dark mode via their Android/iOS settings, however Oxygen OS' doesn't seem to click with it.

Am I missing something, or do I need to wait for an update to come to the Android app that allows for a manual toggle of the mode?

    Thanks in advance!

I think I'm missing something. I'm on Android 9 on my OnePlus 7 Pro but can't seem to find the dark mode override feature under developer options.

Because it is part of Android 10.

And if using Android 10 there's no need to use the override function as you could join the Instagram beta which will enable dark mode on its own based on the system wide theme.

That did it! Thanks a bunch! I was thinking that Night Mode referred to the system night mode that changes the colour tones and reduces brightness. This is why I was hesitating to turn it on in developer options even though I saw it there.

It is available now. There's night mode option in developer settings. Enable it.

You first need to unlock it by pressing your build number a couple of times, I don't know how much. And the it is under "system".
