    Hello Folks,
Guess what time it is? It's Tea time :p (in India)
Today happens to be International Tea Day! A day when all you do is drink tea (not really but let's just keep it that way)
So the idea of this thread was given to me by @LightningXIII when she hosted the Beer thread, she thinks that there are not many people who drink tea here, I always wanted to create this thread and today seems to be the perfect day to do so :D

I know there are many, myself included! @abhilash_saikia a tea expert and a consumer can attest to that :D
Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring hot water over cured tea leaves. Although the method of preparation is more or less the same, they taste DIFFERENT, very different. Google says there are 7 types of tea majorly, but trust me there are more!

Do you drink tea? What is your favourite tea?
I'd love to hear and discover about different kinds of tea.

    Here's mine,

    Tandoori Chai

    Chai-La-Tandoori-Chai.jpg
Tandoori Chai is basically tea prepared and served in an earthen cup. The cup is placed in a Hot tandoor/ a large glowing metal drum filled with coal, that is incredibly hot. Fresh tea is poured in the hot cup till it comes to a boil and served immediately.

Not only is the method of preparation unique but it has a very distinctive taste. Unlike other teas, this stays hot for longer. (Thanks to the tandoor)
This cannot be prepared at home so I end up settling for spiced tea, instead

What tea are you drinking? Let's have a chat over chai :D

    Happy International Tea Day!
    Peace :)

    Tea!!

I'm British my good man, we invented tea!

Many an hour do I spend in the Gentleman's Club, smoking my pipe and consuming vast quantities of tea.

I have a special recipe for Tea, and as is Super Tea day, whatever, I'll share it with you.

    1. Take a large cup, fill the cup with the finest Gin that money can buy.
    2. Wave the cup in the rough direction of India
    3. Consume contents of the cup
    4. Repeated three thousand, eight hundred and thirty-three times.

    Delicious

    Indeed

This is a great thread since I've been talking about tea so much lately, and I can properly talk more about it here. :p

I love both coffee and tea equally, as I absolutely love sipping warm drinks and my preference for beverage changes according to the mood and the weather.
I don't usually take milk but my gloomy, chilly winter evenings started finding comfort in a nicely brewed ginger tea. I find it extremely soothing!

I like exploring different water-based teas (black tea, as we like to call), and there are two I'd like to mention.

Somebody introduced me to Temi Tea from Sikkim and is one of the most delicious tea I've ever had! It has a nice golden color and a soothing aroma. This is a must if you love black tea!

I also discovered Apple Tea this year. It smells of sweet apples and is very refreshing! It feels perfect with cinnamon in fall, and also makes some good cocktails. :D

I've heard about a place in Delhi serving really good Tandoori Chai, definitely going to try it soon!
I'd love to read what everybody has to say about tea, thank you for putting this up. :)

    Hey @YRJ!

Haha! I am not a tea expert at all, that's your gratitude. Thanks for selecting my picture.

It was clicked at Marhi Valley, Himachal Pradesh. That view + Chai = ❤ !

I'm a Chaiholic, that's for sure and I hail from Assam, Northeast of India - The Land of Red Rivers, Blue Hills, and lush Tea gardens. TBH, every day is a Tea Day for me but thanks to you, now I know when International Tea Day is celebrated.

As I'm writing this post, I'm having a cup of Masala Chai my mother made for me. It's a bit cold out here where I live, so Tea with snacks to the rescue.

Thank you. Will definitely try temi tea and apple tea!
Yes you are living under a rock indeed.
Tandoori Chai originated from your neighbor Pune.
It did catch up pretty quickly and made its way down south! :D

I am veeery sure you get tandoori tea in your place. Look it up ;)
Sounds like a delicious plan! 🤤
