Introducing On-Guard For North America

"OnePlus only allows you to cover devices at the time of purchase right now, however they say they’re working with Assurant to support a grace period for those who buy a device but can’t add a plan right away." - from http://phandroid.com/2015/11/19/oneplus-2-x-north-america-warranty/

"To enroll in an On-Guard by Assurant® protection plan, you must do so within
30 days of a qualified OnePlus device purchase.
    Enrollment is optional and is
not required to purchase the device or obtain wireless services."
    - from https://s3.amazonaws.com/oneplussupport/assurant/OnePlus-ON-GUARD-by-Assurant.pdf

The second quote is from Assurant Solutions' OnePlus device protection and coverage form. So it might soon be possible to enroll with that 30 day period mentioned by Assurant?

For folks asking about the deductibles, a paste from the Assurant page:

"$75 for OnePlus 2 and $50 for OnePlus X devices. Once your claim is approved, your replacement will be shipped as soon as next business day, so you can get reconnected quickly! Replacement will be a new, refurbished, or recertified product of like kind and quality. Device color may vary, depending on availability"

Pretty funny as I was already using Assurant as my phone insurance provider. For those that got SCREWED by ONEPLUS on not being able to buy the ON-GUARD program the first two hours...never fear, you can still get insurance thru Assurant w/ a $50 deductable. I have multiple policies w/ them so coverage for a OnePlus X would be $3 a month (it gets cheaper the more devices you add). I got them to add OnePlus Two to the choices in their quote program a couple of months back. They should be adding the OnePlux X soon as I just sent them an email. Hopefully OnePlus will RECTIFY their screw up and let us purchase On-Guard, but if not, this is a good fall back. Their program is called "Protect My Bubble". Link below as well as a snapshot of my policies. POLICIES.png
