Intune Company Portal showing device as "Not In Compliance"

    serbannistor , Oct 15, 2021 :
I will start by saying that this issue doesn't seem to be related to the hardware device itself, but more likely caused by Oxygen OS 11.x.

The reason I am saying this is because it first started occurring on a older OnePlus 6 after I made the upgrade to Oxygen OS 11.1.1.1.

When I try to enrol my device I get the error presented in the screenshot that's telling me I need to set a longer device password. I am using the same device password as I did on Oxygen OS 10.x, which is compliant to the company's rules (no consecutive digits, no duplicates, longer than 4 digits, etc).
Moreover, back when I was on Oxygen OS 10.x whenever I enabled my work profile, the phone asked for my pincode. Now on Oxygen OS 11.x it doesn't ask for the pincode anymore.

I was hoping that with a newer device such as the OnePlus 9 Pro the issue would go away, but unfortunately it seems related to the underlying OS.

I am afraid that without a fix I will have to return my phone.

It may be a security issue between Android 11, as Android 11 did bring additional security protocols, and Intune may require further security due to this. Have you checked with Intune support to see if they have a solution for the issue.?

I think this is because of Android 12, you have toncontact you local IT or serviceprovider.

I do think the problem is in Microsoft Intune and the new way google habdles "security".

I did check with our IT and the feedback was that no one else has reported any issue .. am not sure however if there are any other users who have devices running on Android 12..
Will be taking it up with MS next
    Thanks

Were you able to configure it after the upgrade ?

The issue may be at both ends and with the way Google has designed Android security in Android 12.

You may want to check this MS intune help page. And even contact Microsoft on your particular issue.
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com...-with-microsoft-endpoint-manager/ba-p/2621665 posted by @Niklasg85 further up this thread.

Also give Feedback on the issues back to the OnePlus OOS developers. So that they can investigate them.

You can also search the threads in the Community to see if any relevant suggestions are posted that apply to your situation.

We contacted MS as well and got a similar reply.. so it seems it's an issue with OnePlus OS12.
Have been in touch with OP support , shared logs etc .. finally was asked to wait for the new build, whenever it rolls out
In the meanwhile have downgraded to OS11 and the intune portal works like it used before the upgrade..

It's been in discussions from sep '21, that it will be fixed in upcoming patch and stable version - which never happened. Oneplus lost the credibility and determination, I'm planning to Move away from oneplus.
