All those who are facing battery drain issue, please reboot into recovery mode and try deleting cache in recovery mode. If this still does not fix the issue, then please post some pics of battery stats

It may be some of the apps running in the background which may be draining the battery. The most common one is fb. You can enable aggressive doze mode and apply app-launch restriction to reduce the high power usage of these apps.

My usage pattern has not changed, i don t see how deleting cache (all the stuff has to be downloaded/recompiled again ergo more data and cpu used) will actually help. Since many of us are experiencing the same issue is obviously that is something at the OS level that does not work properly in conjunction with some apps.

What the hell has 6GB RAM to do with battery draining issues? My phone has 6GB RAM too, you know. And it doesn't have battery issues.

    You are wrong and wrong.
    1. Cache consists of temporary data that was prepared for the app running on different version of OS. That means, that if something has changed in OS-app relation (how data is prepared, stored etc), then the cache data may be causing problems, as it's OLD cache for NEW OS-app ecosystem. Delete it, let the app prepare all data again, you won't have issues.
    2. It's not OS behaving wrong in conjunction with apps, its APPs working bad on OS. OS is the foundation (road), the app is merely one of many cars running on it. The road has changed, adapt your car, like everyone else.
