My Clipboard memory was showing over 50mb until I cleared it? Although Google suggests 1KB = 1,024 characters so that's 37,888 of mine gone to Alibaba's servers? Although I'm not sure what anybody would gain by seeing my clipboard characters.

If it's an app with UID 1000, then the data isn't just for this app and accurate, but shared for All system apps.

the app memory/data is not what it sends, that's just the size of its local files, the amount of data that it has sent is visible in the details

Interesting find. Just for curiosity, you didn't have any URLs copied to the clipboard?

    Interesting find indeed.

So I'm a 5t user on Oreo beta also using NetGuard.

Searched for the com.oneplus.clipboard on the NG dashboard with no results. However, googling it came up with an APK with a OP signature. In the name of science I installed it to have a look at the traffic. It's the same build and version as you posted in the image.

I started to log everything through the firewall, copying segments of text and websites. I'm getting no hits on the firewall for that app?

Couple of things before a witch hunt starts. Do we know your system isn't compromised by some spyware? Only limited to the 3/3t? Assuming the 5t uses a different clipboard? Regional?

Did you buy directly from OnePlus or from a 3rd party site like Ali?

My 5t on Oreo does not have a clipboard apk.

Looks like there is some official statement. Android Police featured the find of the thread starter (http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/0...clipboard-data-to-alibaba-controlled-servers/) and quotes this:
Haven't found this statement in the forums yet, so it might have been given directly to AP.

You guys do realize that just like Amazon Web Services that runs half the western world's server, there are also a plenty of competitors including Microsoft, Google AND Alibaba. Just because an app did an HTTP request to a cloud service provider doesn't make it illegal or shady... You need to find what kind of data was sent... Don't forget that this was on the beta channel where they are still testing stuff for their stability and need to collect some kind of diagnostics and analytics data.

I'm not saying that OP is not suspicious (I personally had the clipboard app disabled seconds after the update) but please first research the issue and then go into red alert mode.
