I still haven't received the "update" yet, but I'm concerned if I should upgrade it or keep it to the original version. What so you guys think?

I personally am waiting, even though I got update message. There is just too many people having too many issues for my liking (and I also have unlocked bootloader). But, its everyone's choice.

I was going to upgrade from Oreo over the weekend, but decided against it for the time being. I also would have to do a full install rather than OTA as my bootloader is unlocked. The problem with knowing whether too many people are having problems is that those who are having problems will flock to this site, whereas those who aren't are probably just getting on with their lives. We have no idea of the numbers of either. Maybe a lot of the problems are associated with installing OTA rather than doing a clean install. The cynics may ask why the reported problems are happening just as the 7 pro is being launched, but it could easily be that a clean install is all that is required. Apart from having to put up with the continual upgrade prompt and the end of the security updates, I am happy with Oreo for the moment.

Can I ask whether you did a straight OTA update, cleared cache first or did a clean install?

I'm curious, does anyone know how to hide the update notification? I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out. I like Oreo too much to update, It's perfect for me and i'll probably stick with it for a while.

Your phone has to be rooted to be able to do that

Thank you. I really appreciate your answer to my question. That is quite frustrating that I would have to do something like that just to hide a notification.

I know, frustrating isn't it? We now seem to be a situation where there isn't a stable enough alternative ROM to switch to and an update to Pie that could potentially cause too many problems. Holding off seems to be the best option but that continual Download Upgrade notification is a PITA
