IAnjaniKr , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Oct 19, 2021 : I was planning on trying Oxygen OS 12 Beta. For that I was planning to try Oxygen updater by Adhiraj Chauhan. Should I use it , but I don't want my device root privileges to be modified. Can I still use it with giving it root privileges? If it will modify root access anyway, I will rather wait for stable Oxygen OS 12.
Dresa91 , Oct 19, 2021 : why don't you just follow the guide mentioned here? https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-for-the-oneplus-9-and-oneplus-9-pro.1502946/
Swejuggalo , via OnePlus 9 Pro Morning Mist , Oct 19, 2021 : Also the app CAN use root BUT does not need root just for the download feature. What do you mean with modify root? If you are not rooted it will not root for you.
IAnjaniKr , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Oct 19, 2021 : By 'Modify Root access' , I mean, I don't want my phone to be get rooted by the app to switch to beta build. And is there any risk / hassle/ difficulty if I want to switch back to stable version??
Dresa91 , Oct 19, 2021 : The app won’t root your device. But again, why don’t you follow the guide of the official beta thread?
Swejuggalo , via OnePlus 9 Pro Morning Mist , Oct 19, 2021 : You can't simply just install a app from Play Store and press a root button. There is no "opps I accidently rooted" situation. The tool can just offer extra features IF it detects that you are rooted. That is the only context root is mentioned. Thw only thing this app does on a device without root is to help you download the file and place it at the right location.
